Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised alongside 12 other kids. Her imaginative mind allowed her to escape the harsh realities of everyday life. Before she could write and read, she had already composed her own songs. The guitar that she first received was presented by her mother when she was eight. She started singing at a Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. The same time, Gold Band Records was an independent label. In high school she established herself in the local community, yet she yearned for a larger stage. After she finished her high school, in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her first two charting albums on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host in the late '60s, was looking for a girl to sing for his show. Parton began her career in the year 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974, as her own songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were out-charting their collaborations. Parton, after the split of their collaboration with Wagoner, wrote I Will Always Love You and had it reach No. In 1974, Parton's song I Will Always Love You reached No.
